The Chapter is exceptionally pleased to announce that Philip A. Mackowiak, MD, MACP, was bestowed with the national Nicholas E. Davies Memorial Scholar Award for Outstanding Contributions to Humanism in Medicine at IM09. The award is given for outstanding contributions to humanism in medicine and is bestowed in recognition of scholarly activities in history, literature, philosophy, and ethics.
