Chief Residents Association of Baltimore (CRAB)

CRAB is an active group of residents who are doing a lot of interesting things! Check back here periodically to find out what's happening.

Maryland Chapter Meeting

We hope that you plan to join us for this meeting, which is free to residents and begins at Noon on Friday, February 6. There will be a number of presentations in a Point/Counterpoint type arrangement that will make for a lively discussion. Saturday's schedule holds several presentations that will be of special interest to residents, including the 2008 Associate meeting oral presentation winners and Multiple Small Feedings of the Mind. Take a moment to view the entire meeting program agenda and details.

Mulholland-Mohler Associates Meeting and Abstract Competition

The Maryland Chapter will hold its annual Associates meeting on May 7, 2009 at the University of Mrayland School of Medicine Atrium and Auditorium. Clinical vignette and research abstracts are being accepted for the abstract competition. Deadline for research abstracts is March 1 and for clinical vignettes is March 27. Please contact Maryellen Woodward if you need an abstract form.

Doctors' Dilemma

The Doctors' Dilemma contest is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center. It will begin with a buffet luncheon at Noon on Saturday. Please be sure to let your residents know the date for the upcoming contest. Remember that each team is comprised of 4 members total with at least one PGY-1 and PGY-2 member. The winner of this contest will represent Maryland Chapter at the ACP annual meeting in Philadelphia, PA April 23-25. Note that all participants in the national meeting must be an ACP member in order to participate.

CRAB Web Site

Please be sure to visit our CRAB website at crabdoctalk.com. This Web site is designed especially for residents in the metropolitan area. Once the resident is registered at no cost to him/her, they can add links that would be of interest to medicine (such as updates on medical knowledge, career choices, advice). We suggest that residents use their professional e-mail as these e-mails are good only for the time they are in residency training. The links are contained in the Web site, voted upon daily, and the top ten are then the featured for the day at the top of the link listing. Anytime a resident sees a link that is useful, you simply vote for it and/or add it to the links already featured. We encourage CRAB members to let residents know about this at area hospitals.
