Vision Statement
My professional goals at LSU-New Orleans focus on providing clinical care, teaching and advising medical students and trainees, and participating in scholarly activities that impact positively on the local medical environment, the very goals embodied by ACP. Consequently, I have consistently involved myself in the Louisiana Chapter, working to promote ACP throughout the state. Roles such as co-directing the Associates Committee (which draws participants from every training program in Louisiana), serving on the Diversity Committee and ACP Council, and co-chairing the four most recent Louisiana-Mississippi ACP scientific meetings have shown me that advancing ACP's goals will require the recruitment of more physicians. Attracting Louisiana trainees and physicians so that we can actively work together with ACP to promote internal medicine, health care quality agendas, professional development, and mentoring of our future leaders will allow us to most effectively address the challenges facing Internal Medicine today.
