Grant Information for HIT and HIE
As you know, Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) are two topics of frequent discussion across Kansas as well as the nation.
Significant federal grant dollars are potentially available to Kansas to assist physicians in achieving “meaningful use” of HIT. The Kansas Foundation for Medical Care (KFMC) has been designated as the state’s lead agency to apply for one of these grants – the Regional Extension Center grant. In order to be competitive for the first round fo grants KFMC is seeking indications of support from Kansas physicians. Kansas physicians have been asked to complete the Expression of Interest form and return it to KFMC. Completing the form simply indicates your interest and in no way commits you to future participation.
You may have already received a similar request from the Kansas Medical Society, the Kansas Hospital Association and the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians – all of whom encourage your support of the KFMC request.
Thanks for your assistance and please feel free to call or email should you have any questions or comments.
