1. Medicaid MCO Meeting - Input Wanted

Drs. Lubitz and Sha will be participating in a meeting to initiate a dialog between physicians and the Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). The meeting is being hosted by the Indiana State Medical Association, and leaders from the states's medical societies are being invited. The purpose is to discuss issues that are sources of frustration to physicians and the MCOs, respectively.

How can you play a part? Your representatives are soliciting input regarding problems physicians and/or their offices experience in dealing with MCOs regarding Hoosier Healthwise patients. The MCOs are Anthem/Wellpoint, MHS and MDWise.

2. Congrats -- New Fellows (FACP)

The Chapter wishes to acknowledge the exceptional achievement of Chapter Members. At Internal Medicine 2008 (IM 2008) in Washington, D.C., Dr. Robert Robinson and Dr. William Tierney were each awarded a Mastership in the ACP. This distinct honor recognizes exceptional achievements in and contributions to medical arts and sciences.

The Chapter also acknowledges the induction of new Fellows of the American College of Physicians. This honor recognizes individuals who have attained a specified level of achievements in both medicine and the community and deserve acknowledgement. This year, the Indiana Chapter is pleased to welcome Dr. Pamela Peak and Dr. Craig Wilson as the Chapter's newest inducted Fellows.

Congratulations to all !! To learn how to become a Fellow, go to http://www.acponline.org/membership/types/fellow/
