Biographical Sketch for Governor
Congratulations to the Illinois Downstate Region's Governor Janet A. Jokela, MD, FACP. She started her four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2013. As Governor, Dr. Jokela will serve as the official representative of the College for the Illinois Downstate Region, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. POST DOCTORAL TRAINING: 1987-1990 Internship & Residency, Internal Medicine, Boston City Hospital; 1991-1994 Infectious Disease Fellowship, Beth Israel and Brigham & Women’s Hospitals, Harvard Medical School;
CERTIFICATION: 1990 ABIM Internal Medicine, re-certified 2000, 2010; 1994 ABIM Infectious Diseases, recertified 2004
