Greetings and welcome to the home page of the Iowa Chapter of the American College of Physicians. This Web site will introduce you to leadership and activities of the Iowa Chapter. It also contains a number of valuable links to items of local and national interest.
One of the strengths of our chapter is the strong record of participation by medical student and resident associate members. There are links to the home pages for the two outstanding internal medicine residency programs in the state. There is also a link to Club Med, the internal medicine interest group at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine that our chapter supports.
You will also find easy links at the top of this page to valuable ACP Web sites including Clinical Information Resources, Continuing Medical Education, Advocacy Initiatives, Practice Management Resources, Career Planning, and even a link to Member Services where members can review and update their membership status and identifying information.
There is a Students/Residents tab that allows medical students to access information about the Council of Student Members, student discussion groups, competition and awards for students, and information about residency and career opportunities in internal medicine. For residents and fellows, there is information on how to join the ACP, what meetings, competitions and awards are available, and valuable career planning information.
Finally, you will find a link under the About the Chapter section entitled Member Interest Form that allows any Iowa chapter member to tell us their areas of interest and to notify us if they are interested in serving on any chapter committees. There is also a link labeled Contacts that allows members to easily contact Fran Blanc, our Iowa chapter administrative assistant, or current chapter Governor, Richard LeBlond, MD, MACP.
Mark W. Purtle, MD, FACP
