2004 Evergreen Award Winner
The Connecticut Chapter received the 2004 Evergreen Award for the following program:
Associate's Forum Initiative
During the past three years, the Connecticut Chapter has worked to stimulate Associate activity such as interest in scholarly activities and clinical research, a forum for networking and camaraderie, and an infrastructure of communications amongst the twelve training programs to foster interaction across the state. One of the newest developments was the selection of an Associate Advisor to serve as an identifiable contact to all Associates regarding College issues. In The advisor established a planning committee to organize events and meetings for Associates. Various educational forums were designed to deliver high quality educational lectures and workshops that contained contemporary relevance for the Associates. The Spring Forum and Annual Scientific Meeting included mentoring luncheons, interactive workshops, poster and oral presentations, and world-renowned speakers. To piggyback off of these events, the chapter added another session in coordination with Yale New Haven Hospital on "Entering the Workforce." The plans for next year include a Chief Residents Committee and development of an Associates Newsletter.
