Governor-Elect Update:

Firstly, I'd like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who sent in applications for the position of Governor-Elect. I'd like to update you that under the guidance of Dr. Barry Kassen, previous Governor and Chair of the Governor-Elect Selection Committee, a number of highly qualified and well deserving individuals were identified. The process is now in the hands of the College, and I will send you information regarding the winning candidate as soon as it becomes available.

Rocky Mountain Internal Medicine Meeting:

In further news, please be reminded of the 2009 ACP Rocky Mountain Internal Medicine Meeting being held November 12-15th, 2009 at Banff Park Lodge, Alberta. This meeting is held jointly with the Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba/Saskatchewan Chapters.

Advance to Fellowship:

As you know, ACP is a member-driven organization and in the British Columbia Chapter we have over 300 members. As such, the Chapter encourages all members to participate in the leadership and governance of our organization. I invite you to get involved and stay connected with our chapter--participation in chapter activities is a good way for your concerns to be heard and addressed, while also supporting promotion to ACP Fellowship.

There are more Fellows in British Columbia than ever before, but there are many more who should be Fellows. There are different tracks you may follow to advance to Fellowship in the ACP. Contact me at phcdeptmedicine@providencehealth.bc.ca if you are interested in becoming a Fellow, or if you know someone who should apply.
