Governor Elections Results

Thank you all for voting in our Chapter Governor Elections last fall. As you know, two California regions held elections, and both had two outstanding candidates. Northern California's exceptional candidates were George W. Meyer and Theodore G. Rose, and Southern California Region III also had two fine candidates, Carla G. Fox and Howard V. Williams. The Chapter would like to acknowledge and thank them all for their enthusiastic work on behalf of our Chapter over the years.

We are pleased to announce that George W. Meyer, MD, FACP was selected to be the next Governor for Northern California, and Carla G. Fox, MD, FACP was chosen as the next Southern California Region III Governor. Our newly elected Governor-elect Designees will start their four-year terms as Governor in the Spring of 2009 and will serve as Governor-elects from May 2008 until then, as a period of training. As Governor, they serve as official representatives of the College for the California Chapter, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. The Governor has a variety of responsibilities at both levels.

To learn more about the background and experience of our new Governor-elect Designees, read the biographies and vision statements for Dr. Meyer and Dr. Fox.
