California Northern Abstract Competition

We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 2009 ACP Northern California Chapter Scientific Meeting November 21-22, 2009, which will be held at the Radisson Hotel, 500 Leisure Lane, Sacramento, CA. The deadline for online abstract submission is September 28, 2009.

Please note that each program has been assigned a certain number of submissions. You must have your program director's approval to submit an abstract. (Submissions will be verified with the program director.)

This is an ACP Associates' and Medical Students' competition. First author and presenter must be an ACP Associate or Medical Student with current membership status and be a member of the ACP California Northern Chapter. Limit of one (1) entry per first author. Please use the online abstract form for all submissions.

Abstracts will be accepted into one of two categories: Clinical Vignette (reports of one or more cases that illustrate a rare disease entity or an unusual clinical presentation of an established disease) or Research (clinical and/or laboratory research, delineating a new investigation into mechanisms of disease or consisting of a detailed review of a clinical problem).

The body of the Clinical Vignette Abstract should be organized as follows:

  • Title and Author information
  • Introduction
  • Case description
  • Discussion

The body of the Research Abstract should be organized as follows:

  • Title and Author information
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

We highly encourage you to submit early to ensure your abstract is received. You will receive an e-mail notification once your abstract has been successfully submitted. Please use your most used e-mail address when submitting the abstract. All communication regarding the abstract competition will be sent electronically.
