My vision as Governor is to improve the health of Alabamians through the action of ACP members. I will accomplish such goal by offering continuous updates and a forum so members remain informed on seismic changes upon us. Over the next several years the Affordable Care Act (ACA), board certification, and the changes proposed by the ACGME will shape the future of American medicine in a way we have not seen since the enactment of the Medicare Act and the release of the Flexner report. As your Governor I will maintain you abreast of the College leadership opinions and actions in regards to ACA, ABIM, and ACGME as well as carrying back your concerns and ideas to the Board of Governors and Board of Reagents. As a physician, my passion is to provide the best possible care for those we serve and the best training to those we teach.
